Your nonprofit. In everyone's pocket.
Giving Toolbox is a native iPhone and iPad app that runs expenses, grants, events, auctions, volunteers and donors from the device your whole team already carries.
Most nonprofit software was built for a desktop browser. The work happens at the check-in table, in the auction room, in the car on the way back from a site visit. This app was built for where the work actually happens, and it keeps working when the venue wifi does not.
The work is not happening at a desk
Nonprofit platforms are largely browser-first, which assumes someone is sitting at a computer when the information arrives. For most small and mid-sized organizations, that assumption breaks constantly.
The receipt is in a coat pocket
Expenses get captured when someone remembers to log in later, which is why receipts go missing and 990 categories get assigned from memory at year end. Scanning at the register takes seconds and the coding happens then, not in March.
The event is not in the office
Check-in, auction bids, paddle raise pledges and door sales all happen in a room with a crowd in it. A browser tab on a laptop at the back table is not where several staff members can work at once.
Single-purpose apps fragment the data
There are good mobile apps for one job each: a donation kiosk, a mileage logger, a sign-up sheet. Running six of them means six exports and no single view of what an event actually cost or raised.
What you can run from an iPhone
Six areas of nonprofit operations, in one app, sharing one set of records. Each one has its own detail page.
Expenses and 990 coding
Scan a receipt with the camera. The amount, vendor and date are extracted, then mapped to Program, Management and General, or Fundraising. Staff submit, admins approve.
Expense tracking →Events and ticketing
Ticket tiers, QR check-in at the door, waitlists and sponsorships. When several staff work the door, every device stays in sync as guests are checked in.
Events and ticketing →Auctions and paddle raise
Build the item catalog, open bidding waves, track bids live and take winner payments. Paddle raise pledges are recorded as the auctioneer calls them.
Silent auction →Grants and deadlines
Track a grant from first contact through award, spending restrictions and reporting dates. Tag an expense to a grant and the remaining balance updates.
Grant tracking →Volunteers and hours
Schedule shifts, check volunteers in and out with QR codes, export hours for your 990 in-kind reporting, and generate certificates of service.
Volunteer management →Donors and contacts
Scan a business card at the gala and the contact record exists before you leave the room. Donors, sponsors, board members and staff live in one list.
Donor management →It keeps working when the venue wifi does not
This is the practical difference between an app and a website. A browser-based platform in a banquet hall with weak signal stops being useful at the exact moment it matters most.
Your data is cached on the device
Events, expenses, contacts, campaigns, auctions, raffles, donations, volunteer shifts, golf tournaments and sponsored funds are stored locally, so the app opens with your information already there.
Work continues without signal
Keep capturing receipts and checking people in while you are on site. Everything syncs automatically once the device reconnects.
Several staff, one live picture
Check someone in on one phone and it appears on every other staff device within seconds. That applies to door check-in, peer-to-peer participants and golf foursomes.
Common questions
Yes. Giving Toolbox is a native iOS app that covers all of these in one place: expense capture with IRS 990 coding, grant tracking, events and ticketing, silent auctions, paddle raise, crowdfunding, peer-to-peer, raffles, volunteer scheduling and hours, mileage, and a donor and contact CRM. Because they share one set of records, an event's revenue and its expenses land in the same place and produce a real profit and loss picture.
Traditional nonprofit platforms are browser-first and assume staff are at a computer. Single-purpose mobile apps solve one narrow problem each. Giving Toolbox is one native app covering multiple functions, carried by everyone on the team, that keeps working without a connection. Records are captured at the moment they happen rather than re-entered later.
Yes. Your data is cached on the device, so the app loads and stays useful on site without reliable service. Changes sync automatically once you reconnect.
iPhone and iPad, running iOS 17.6 or later. There is no Android version at this time.
The Free tier is a single owner account, so adding staff requires Premium at $34.99 per month. Premium includes unlimited staff accounts with no per-seat charge, and permissions are set per join code so each person sees only what they need.
Your organization connects its own Stripe account and funds deposit directly to you. A platform fee applies to payments taken through the app, 1.5% on Free and 0.5% on Premium, on top of Stripe's standard processing fee. Donors can choose to cover both at checkout.
